Ghastly Grim London - Jack the Ripper, Wicked Whitechapel and Sophisticated Spitalfields - In the footsteps of Jack the Ripper.

Come on a journey back to the 1880s as we explore Whitechapel and Spitalfields in the footsteps of Jack The Ripper, including the pub he may have drank in.

Discover a diverse and multi-cultural area of London that is very different from the 1880s but also, in many ways, very much the same.
We will visit ancient City Churches and a church that has changed religions 3 times.
Visit Brick Lane, the East London home of South Asian food.
Experience Petticoat Lane, the home of the Cockney street traders, and the fabulous Spitalfields market.
See where modern avant-garde artists live and work.
All these and much more in a stroll around this interesting area of the greatest City on Earth.

The meeting point is by the Sundial next to the exit of Tower Hill underground station. (Please see the photo). I will be wearing a large brown wide brim hat, holding a red umbrella and wearing my official City of London guide badge.

The walk ends at Spitalfields Market which is a 5-minute walk from Liverpool Street station.

Dress - Please wear shoes comfortable and suitable for walking and dress according to the the weather as the walk will go ahead even if it is raining.

Food and drink - Please bring a drink with you as we will not normally stop for refreshments. Food and drink is available at Tower Hill and there are many places to eat and drink in the Spitalfields area. We will pass shops where you can buy food and drink if you need to.

Restrooms - There are restrooms available at the start and finish of the walk.

Cash - £'s is preferred , I am also happy to take Euro, USD, AUD and other major currency notes.

When deciding what is fair please consider that your Guru Chris, is a professional qualified London guide and this is my job. So if you enjoy the walk and pay nothing, (Yes, some people do this) that really would not be fair. The average payment for this type of tour in London is £15- £20

Minimum number - The minimum number of walkers booked in for this tour to take place is 5. If there are fewer than this number 12 hours before the start time I will, sadly, have to cancel the tour as it will be uneconomic for me.
